Ceramic Futures returns to Cersaie
temps de lecture: 3 minutes

As last year, 4 groups of students, each from a different international design school, will challenge each other on the Internet, taking an architectural approach to the future shape of the ceramics market.
Starting from a short outline concept by Stefano Mirti focusing on 4 topics – to walk, to eat, to love, to sleep – students from the Milan Politecnico, the Bologna Accademia di Belle Arti, EnsAD Paris and ELISAVA Barcelona will compete in the field of architectural and design invention, imagining new scenarios, guidelines and paths for ceramic coverings.
The young people worked at their respective schools during May and June, and as for the first edition, the entire process has been shared on a dedicated web platform, which constantly dialogued with the project’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+ accounts: anyone could join the debate, observing, commenting, giving guidance or interacting, helping to trigger a viral communication mechanism intrinsic to the medium used.
The project will reach its natural conclusion at Cersaie (Bologna, 22-26 September), where the results of this ceramic-related interaction will be displayed and recounted through the exhibition of the prototypes constructed by the students and by means of a symposium to be held on Monday 22 September in the “Galleria dell’Architettura” (Architecture Gallery), during which the key design ideas will be presented.
Ceramic Futures: from poetry to science fiction is a project sponsored by Confindustria Ceramica, organised by Edi.Cer. SpA in association with IdLab.
